(NEW YORK) While the fash-noscenti

(NEW YORK) While the fash-noscenti were all the way uptown toasting the FGI Awards at Cipriani, the cinematic set was heading downtown to the Tribeca Grand for a Cinema Society, The Weinstein Company, and Tumi-hosted screening of This Must Be the Place. This new film from Paolo Sorrentino stars Sean Penn as an aging rock star called "Cheyenne" whose life is comprised of playing handball and shuffling aimlessly throughout his Architectural Digest-worthy estate outside of Dublin until his father's death propels him back to the United States and he embarks on a noble quest to hunt down his father's persecutor. "Trust me, you don't want to see him this way," quipped Penn's co-star Judd Hirsch, who was referring to the actor's illness, which kept him in bed last night, but he may as well have been referring to Penn's character, which is presumably a shell of his former self. For a musician no longer performs, Cheyenne's story is filled with the stuff, thanks to a score by David Byrne (who also makes a cameo in the film) and Will Oldham.
